These are the rules for using Optimal and all of its subdomains (I'll just call all of it "the site"). I'm Aryan Gupta and I made and run the site by myself. By using it you agree to these terms, so if you don't agree, please don't use it.
You have to be at least 13 to use the site. If you're under 18 you need permission from a parent or guardian, and they're agreeing to these terms for you.
You need an account to save your checks and get daily credits. You sign up with an email and password. Please use your real information and keep your password to yourself. If you think someone else got into your account, let me know as soon as you can. You're responsible for whatever happens on your account.
Each person can only have one account, and you can't use bots to make accounts.
Every check costs one credit. If you don't have an account you get five credits a day, and if you do have one you get ten every day (you can save up to fifty). A new day starts at midnight Pacific time. If a check fails because of an error, you get the credit back.
Credits are free and aren't worth any money, so they can't be bought, sold, or traded. I might change how many credits people get at some point. Please don't try to get extra credits by making more accounts or hiding your IP address.
Don't submit text you don't have the right to share, or anything that has someone else's private information in it. Don't submit anything illegal, hateful, or threatening either. Please don't use results from the site to harass or embarrass people.
You also can't use bots or scrapers on the site, try to break it or overload it, or try to get into other people's accounts. If you want to use the site for a business, ask me first.
I can refuse to check text or remove anything that breaks these rules.
The text you submit and the results you get back still belong to you. By using the site, you're letting me store and process your text, but only so the site can work, show you your results, and so I can review how well Optimal is working and fix its mistakes. Once your text is deleted, that permission ends. You're responsible for what you submit and what you do with the results.
Optimal tries to guess whether text was run through an AI humanizer. It checks for hidden characters, fake letters, and spun phrases, and it has an AI review the text too. It isn't an AI detector though. It does not score plain AI writing, so a low score doesn't mean a person wrote the text.
The results are guesses and they can be wrong. Humanized text can still get a low score, and something a person wrote completely on their own can get a high one. Because of that, you agree not to use a result from this site as the only reason for a grade, a job decision, or any kind of punishment. Use it as a reason to look closer, like checking someone's earlier drafts or just talking to them. Nobody reviews the results before you see them.
The site only saves what it needs. If you make an account, it saves your email, username, and phone number if you add one. Passwords are scrambled (hashed) before they're saved, so nobody can see your actual password, including me.
Every text that gets checked is saved along with its result, whether or not you have an account. I'm the only one who can see these, and I use them to see how well Optimal is working and to fix its mistakes. If you have an account, your checks also show up on your History page. If you don't, they are saved without your name. Please don't paste anything private or personal into the checker.
To check your text, the site also sends it to Google's Gemini AI, which reviews it and sends back its findings.
The site also uses your IP address to count visitors and to keep track of free credits, but it scrambles it first and never saves the real address. Cookies are only used to keep you logged in and to remember light or dark mode. There are no ad or tracking cookies.
I don't sell your information or give it to advertisers. You can change your info in Settings whenever you want, and you can delete your account and all your saved checks there too.
Cloudflare Turnstile is used on the signup page to make sure accounts are made by people and not bots. The text you check is also sent to an outside AI service so it can be analyzed. Those companies have their own terms and privacy policies that apply too.
You can stop using the site and delete your account any time. I can suspend or remove accounts that break these rules or that could hurt other people or the site. I might also change the site or shut it down at some point.
The site is provided as it is. I can't promise it will always be up, completely secure, or free of bugs, and I can't promise saved checks will be kept forever.
As far as the law allows, I'm not responsible for any damages or lost data that come from using the site or not being able to use it.
I might update these terms later. If I do, I'll change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using the site after that, it means you're okay with the new version.
These terms follow California law.
